Welcome to the Process Engineering Lab at TRDDC!

Over the past twenty five years, we have developed a host of tools, technologies, processes and decision support systems to help make improvements in the efficiency of manufacturing processes and thus bring down the operating costs. Physics based modeling and simulation of manufacturing processes is one of the core expertise of our group. We in collaboration with our Engineering and Industrial Services (EIS) business group have provided innovative solutions to the industry. The goal of our internal research initiatives is to provide necessary tools and technologies to our clients to help them sustain their competitive edge in the market place and assist them to respond to new challenges such as environmental compliance and reducing environmental footprint. Our efforts are specifically aimed at enhancing operational efficiency of our manufacturing industry with respect to reduction in energy consumption, cost of production and environmental footprint. Our programs are aimed at addressing problems related to design as well as process optimization and control of operating plants.

No real life problems are tailor-made for any scientific discipline. We have therefore organized ourselves as a multi-disciplinary team of professionals with expertise and experience in several areas of science (surface and colloid chemistry, molecular modeling) and engineering (chemical, metallurgical, mechanical) trained in and committed to developing innovative solutions for the industry. We actively collaborate with appropriate research groups in areas of mutual interest and benefit both in India (CSIR and other national laboratories, IIT's, IISc Bangalore) and overseas (USA, Japan, Germany, Sweden, France). Our colleagues have obtained higher degrees from reputed institutions in India as well as abroad while working in our lab on practical problems of industrial importance.
